Background

The project is inspired by a personal insight. I had never really noticed how beautiful plants in spring are. It all started with a willow tree near my family's country house, and then it turned into a photo collection. I felt that I was not the only one who used to overlook the beauty of the season, so I decided to reflect this message through a design concept based on my photographs.

Problem

Spring is the time when nature awakens, once again reminding us of its beauty. Yet people caught up in endless everyday tasks — or students absorbed in writing their thesis — often seem unable to leave their winter hibernation behind. As a result, they miss a seemingly simple, yet truly enchanting natural phenomenon.

Solution

The immersive exhibition Wake Up allows visitors to explore the process of blooming in all its beauty and enjoy every detail up close. Through engagement and emotion, the exposition helps visitors to wake up, open their eyes, and pay attention to the world around them.

Wake Up is a sip of double espresso — a way to see anew what has always been right in front of us.

Wake Up is an XR location-based immersive exhibition built around real-time interaction between visitors, spatial sensors, projection mapping, and a mobile AR layer. Visitors use a smartphone or XR device to scan the environment, detect hidden digital seeds, activate them through proximity, gesture, and add each discovered stage of blooming to a personal digital herbarium. Motion tracking and generative visuals allow the space to respond dynamically: roots grow under visitors' steps, buds open when specific interaction is met. All individual actions are collected by the system and influence the shared projection environment, gradually transforming the exhibition from a dormant winter landscape into a blooming ecosystem.
